(AsiaGameHub) -   The International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) recorded 70 possible inconsistencies in betting data for the first quarter of 2026 across 10 different sports. Europe reported the highest number of recorded incidents, followed by North America, Asia, South America, Africa, and global eSports competitions. Football saw the most suspicious activity among all sports, with 25 alerts logged across Africa, North America, Asia, South America and Europe. Tennis ranked second with 16 alerts, including reports from Egypt, Mexico, India, Chile and other European nations, while eSports contributed 15 alerts. The 15 alerts from eSports highlight the global scope of eSports competitions. Europe made up 28% of all total reports, while North America accounted for 20% of alerts and Asia represented 21%. Further breaking down the data, South America contributed 13% of alerts, Africa accounted for 9%, and global eSports activities made up the remaining 9%. Brazil remains a consistent hotspot for suspicious betting activity. Between 2021 and 2025, the country generated 68 alerts across 8 different sports, most of which stemmed from allegations of fraudulent football betting. IBIA's membership consists of more than 90 companies and over 200 betting brands, which monitor over 1.5 million sporting events across 80 sports each year. IBIA member firms have access to customer activity data sourced from more than US$300 billion in global annual betting turnover. This article is provided by a third-party. Winzon Group’s licence revoked by Malta Gaming Authority

(AsiaGameHub) -   The Malta Gaming Authority has revoked Winzon Group’s operating licence, with the decision taking effect retroactively from March 11, 2026. This action was carried out under regulation 10(2)(b) of Malta’s regulatory compliance framework. It is reported that Winzon ran multiple iGaming platforms including Comix Casino, though most of its sites are no longer active. Notably, even after the revocation, Comix Casino still claims it holds MGA licensing on its official website. As part of its obligations under this order, Winzon must send an email notification and post a public notice on its website to all customers, informing them that its operating licence has been cancelled. The notice is required to stay posted for no less than thirty (30) days. In accordance with Maltese Gaming Laws, Winzon must return all remaining account balances of verified customers to the corresponding customers starting on the date this order is issued. Winzon must provide proof of all account withdrawals (transaction records and bank-issued supporting documents) to ensure all funds are returned to customers on time. As outlined in this order, even after the licence revocation, Winzon is still obliged to protect customer privacy and secure all customer data following its existing policies and all applicable data protection laws. Because Winzon failed to submit a post-shutdown plan, players will not receive information about how their data will be managed after the shutdown. Additionally, Winzon must remove all indicators of MGA authorisation from all platforms and media, and may not present itself as a regulated gaming entity now that it no longer holds a valid gaming licence. These enforcement measures also cover specific outstanding debts owed by Winzon. Winzon owes the MGA €46,693.23 for unpaid historical licensing and compliance fees, and has accumulated €147,080 in administrative penalties for multiple violations of MGA rules and regulations. While no specific details of the violations alleged against Winzon have been released, the MGA has confirmed that these violations qualify as breaches of locally applicable laws and regulatory provisions. All of Winzon’s obligations remain in effect regardless of this order, and any failure by Winzon to comply with requirements or settle its outstanding obligations and debts may lead to further enforcement action. Malta Announces Revisions to VAT and Gaming Tax Frameworks

(AsiaGameHub) -   After Legal Notices 84 and 86 of 2026 were published on April 1, the Malta Tax and Customs Administration (MTCA) and the Malta Gaming Authority have announced upcoming improvements to Malta’s VAT and gaming tax frameworks. The new measures will take effect on October 1, 2026. This initiative is built on feedback collected from industry stakeholders through transitional consultations. It aligns with the Government of Malta’s strategy to enhance the long-term sustainability, competitiveness, and regulatory clarity of the Gaming Industry, as outlined in the 2026 Budget. Malta aims to revise its existing VAT Legislation (VAT Act, Chapter 406) and issue further guidance via the MTCA. This guidance will clarify the VAT treatment of specific gambling services, particularly sports betting and certain casino games. Key updates include: Streamlined and more balanced gaming tax rates for both land-based and online operators serving players in Malta Consolidation of the current gaming tax and gaming device levy into a single, simplified system based on game type and delivery method The updated framework will apply solely to gaming services provided within Malta and is designed to maintain a fair impact across the sector. Additional direction will also be provided on how the “place of supply” rules are applied—specifically, whether the tax position will be based on the principle of consumption or the effective use of goods and services. These reforms are intended to improve operators’ ability to reclaim applicable input VAT costs, resulting in an efficient and transparent system. Furthermore, the MGA will amend the existing tax regulations governing licensing fees through the Tax (Regulations of Gaming) (Subsidiary Legislation 583.10). The MGA plans to implement these changes by October 2026, giving operators sufficient time to migrate their systems and ensure compliance with the new arrangements. The proposed coordinated reforms aim to provide operators with predictable VAT treatment, boost operational efficiency, and preserve Malta as a leading global gaming jurisdiction. Eeze Launches Multiplier-Filled Hit Gameshow Fortune Drop

(AsiaGameHub) -   Eeze, a provider of next-generation casino solutions, has launched its newest successful gameshow game, Fortune Drop. The game, set against a lively, circus-themed backdrop, features straightforward gameplay. A wheel with six segments, each displaying a high-card symbol from Nine to Ace, rotates. Players then place bets on which card the three dropped balls will land on. Initial payouts begin at 2x for landing a single ball on a card. However, Fortune Drop truly shines when two or three balls land on the same card, activating the Bonus Wheel. This feature can provide multipliers of up to 100x. Landing on a Bonus segment guarantees a 50x win and a subsequent respin. If the Bonus is triggered three consecutive times, the maximum payout can reach 450x. Fortune Drop is the most recent gameshow title to be added to Eeze’s collection, following Fusion Roulette. This addition expands an offering that blends traditional casino games with advanced green screen technology. Graeme Powrie, Chief Commercial Officer at Eeze, stated: “Fortune Drop combines ease of play with the potential for substantial wins, making it an ideal, fast-paced live casino game. “Our aim is to offer games that cater to players seeking both brief gaming sessions and extended play, and Fortune Drop perfectly achieves this balance.” This article is provided by a third-party. Premier League clubs prepare for £80m sponsorship shortfall

(AsiaGameHub) -   Premier League teams are expected to lose more than £80 million in shirt sponsorship revenue as gambling companies pull their front-of-shirt logo deals before the 2026/27 season begins. Thanks to a voluntary agreement between the UK government and the league in 2023 that curtails gambling advertising in football, clubs are having trouble finding replacement sponsors—some are reported to have seen their sponsorship income drop by as much as 50% from previous levels. Certain clubs like Everton are adapting by restructuring their sponsorship arrangements; Stake, a UK-licensed gambling firm that cannot offer any gaming services within the UK, will remain an official sleeve sponsor. Right now, the UK government is developing proposals for stricter regulations. UK Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy stated: It’s not acceptable for unlicensed gambling operators to sponsor some of our biggest football clubs, as this raises their profile and could potentially draw fans to sites that don’t meet our regulatory standards. Legal experts warn that additional rules may take time to implement. Melanie Ellis noted: I expect they will want to put this in place within a reasonably short timeframe… but in my view, at least 18 months will be needed. The constantly changing regulatory environment will continue to affect football sponsorships in future seasons. This article is provided by a third-party. Paysafe, MoonPay Launch Crypto Payment Gateway for US iGaming

(AsiaGameHub) -   A new collaboration between Paysafe and MoonPay is accelerating the mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency in the U.S. iGaming and daily fantasy sports industries. The partners have introduced "Pay with Crypto," a solution that lets players deposit funds into their gaming accounts using digital assets. This integration aims to streamline the conversion process between cryptocurrencies and standard fiat money, facilitating a quicker and more seamless payment process. The introduction coincides with a period of expanding cryptocurrency ownership across the United States. Approximately 70.4 million American adults currently possess some type of digital asset. According to Paysafe's own research, this trend is already affecting player habits, as 83% of U.S. bettors have shown interest in funding their iGaming accounts with cryptocurrencies. To address this demand, the new service permits users to make direct payments with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and USD Coin, eliminating the requirement for manual conversion to fiat currency prior to wagering. Zak Cutler stated that this initiative mirrors a wider change in consumer perception of digital assets. He observed that cryptocurrency is being utilized more frequently as a functional payment tool, not merely an investment, enabling operators to better meet changing user expectations. Ivan Soto-Wright reinforced this view, highlighting that payments on a blockchain can provide enhanced efficiency over conventional payment systems. He further mentioned that users ought to have the ability to spend their digital assets effortlessly, without manual conversion. MoonPay's regulatory compliance, which includes holding licenses like the New York BitLicense, is anticipated to offer a lawful basis for the service's operation in the U.S. market. Speed and ease of use continue to be vital in the iGaming sector. By merging their technological expertise, Paysafe and MoonPay seek to provide a more efficient payment process, offering both operators and players increased flexibility in managing fund transfers and usage. Uganda plans to levy a 30% tax on online gambling

(AsiaGameHub) -   Uganda will soon roll out a flat 30 percent tax on all forms of online gambling. The Lotteries and Gaming (Amendment) Bill of 2026 was tabled before the Parliament of Uganda by Minister of Finance Matia Kasaija on March 27. The tax is set to be applied uniformly across all types of gaming and gaming activities. As outlined in the bill, the taxable base is defined as all payouts issued within Uganda’s gaming industry. Specifically, this refers to “the total gross dollar amount of all money paid to a player when the player takes part in a gaming activity, or the fair market value of any non-cash prizes awarded”. If the bill is passed by Parliament, it will take effect in the 2025/26 fiscal year, starting from July 1, 2026. The new tax has been introduced in response to the rapid growth of Uganda’s gambling industry, which has been fueled partly by the expansion of electronic payment systems, mobile phones and online platforms that serve the country’s young urban population. Currently, Uganda’s gambling industry employs more than 10,000 people and generates considerable amounts of both tax revenue and non-tax revenue for the Ugandan government. Betting is the largest single segment of Uganda’s gambling industry. This sector is projected to generate $328 million in 2025, making it an extremely popular option for Ugandan gamblers. However, the legal interactive gambling market is facing competition from both international and local unlicensed operators. In 2025, illegal interactive gambling brought in $114.8 million in gross revenue for unlicensed operators, while the total legal interactive gambling revenue recorded in Uganda in 2025 was $322.6 million. This means that, based on the total legal interactive gambling revenue, more than 25% of all interactive gambling revenue generated in Uganda in 2025 came from illegal operations.
